You have a very pleasant voice...but can hear a bit of a southern thing...very faint...but it's there! Kinda like my best friend, Kara. She moved when she was 18 to South Carolina and now lives in Louisiana and I notice she is picking up a southern thing! I probably sound like a total Michigander...I know I do!

Well thanks. My family up north says I have a southern accent but no one here thinks that. They all say I sound like I'm from the north. So obviously I have a mix. It even came up in linguistics class- I said a certain vowel sound that no one else in the class did.

It was cot-caught. Here caught would sound just like cot whereas I would pronounce caught "cawght."

And don't feel bad about not wanting to lose your northern accent.

And Nikki, you totally totally sound like a Michigander. I could have known nothing about you and known after you saying one sentence. : )

Ok, I just took Ashley's quiz and I don't think it's very accurate! Look what I got:

"Western. Like Midland, Western is another accent that people consider neutral. So, you might not actually be from the Western half of the country, but you definitely sound like it.

And if you're not from the West, you are probably one of the following:
(a) A Pittsburgher - the quiz can't tell the difference;
(b) Someone from Canada (probably southern Ontario) who doesn't have a Canadian accent;
(c) Someone from northern New England who doesn't have a New England accent; or
(d) Someone from Texas or the Heartland who was born after 1980.
You are definitely not from New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Detroit, the Deep South, etc."

I'm NOT from Detroit? Ummm...maybe they mean not from the ghetto? lol. I'm confused.

I told you I didn't know how accurate it was! I just said fun, just fun... don't hurt me... *shrinks away*

I can't WAIT to be a mother! :)

Nikki: What does your boyfriend play?

I want to be a mom too...not right now though. No way.

Lauren, he plays...um, everything. LOL! Seriously...guitar, bass, drums, piano, violin, accordion, harmonica....but he sings with the opera...he's not a part of the orchestra.

btw...where's everyone staying.

Was originally booked in at The Moore, but switched to the Hotel 1000 to up the "hip" quotient for the wife (okay...for me ; ) )....we're flying all that way, so why not stay at the coolest hotel in Seattle.

Don't worry...there will be plenty of underage drinking...no one is driving anywhere....

I'm staying with my cousin Audrey in Tacoma... so my lodging is FA-ree!

Yeah, it looks like the Moore is seriously lacking in the hip areas...

Haha, well that's good to hear! i thought maybe it had some crediblity, since it said i had a northern (minnesotan) one... but maybe not...

Well, I think I'll be heading off soon. As soon as the indians/yankees game finishes up.

Oh, and can everyone wish me luck? I've a midterm tomorrow morning :(

Eek. Good luck! And get to bed :)

Completely off subject and should probably go on the Travis messageboard (but I avoid going there)... I am making a Travis sampler CD for my friends. Here are the songs I was thinking of (basically just my favorites), but are there any really that I am missing that a new fan should hear or maybe some I should take off? What do you guys think?

Love Will Come Through
Selfish Jean
The Distance
Sailing Away
20
Somewhere Else
All I want to do is rock
More than us
Coming Around
Good Feeling
I love you Anyways
Big Chair
Writing to reach you
Turn
Why does it always rain on me?
3 times and you lose
My eyes
Sing
Walking in the Sun
Battleships
As you are
Re-offender

I guess it is kinda heavy on the newer stuff.

Good luck! What subject?

Hey you should comment on my Travis wish list set list thread in the other board. What's your idea of the perfect set list?

Yes I saw that, but I thought it would be too hard. I'll have to think about it for a while :)

There are a bunch I would add on to that!

You HAVE to put SIDE!

Then maybe..
Driftwood
Happy
Blue Flashing Light
Eyes Wide Open
Happy To Hang Around
Closer
Colder

Every song is amazing...
