Well thanks. My family up north says I have a southern accent but no one here thinks that. They all say I sound like I'm from the north. So obviously I have a mix. It even came up in linguistics class- I said a certain vowel sound that no one else in the class did.
It was cot-caught. Here caught would sound just like cot whereas I would pronounce caught "cawght."
And don't feel bad about not wanting to lose your northern accent.
And Nikki, you totally totally sound like a Michigander. I could have known nothing about you and known after you saying one sentence. : )
Ok, I just took Ashley's quiz and I don't think it's very accurate! Look what I got:
"Western. Like Midland, Western is another accent that people consider neutral. So, you might not actually be from the Western half of the country, but you definitely sound like it.
And if you're not from the West, you are probably one of the following:
(a) A Pittsburgher - the quiz can't tell the difference;
(b) Someone from Canada (probably southern Ontario) who doesn't have a Canadian accent;
(c) Someone from northern New England who doesn't have a New England accent; or

You are definitely not from New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Detroit, the Deep South, etc."
I'm NOT from Detroit? Ummm...maybe they mean not from the ghetto? lol. I'm confused.

Lauren, he plays...um, everything. LOL! Seriously...guitar, bass, drums, piano, violin, accordion, harmonica....but he sings with the opera...he's not a part of the orchestra. |

btw...where's everyone staying.
Was originally booked in at The Moore, but switched to the Hotel 1000 to up the "hip" quotient for the wife (okay...for me ; ) )....we're flying all that way, so why not stay at the coolest hotel in Seattle. |

Yeah, it looks like the Moore is seriously lacking in the hip areas...

Here are the songs I was thinking of (basically just my favorites), but are there any really that I am missing that a new fan should hear or maybe some I should take off? What do you guys think?
