I have to admit: I have NEVER been to Heidelberg. Well, no, that's not true, I've been there but I was about 6 years old, and I can't remember anything about it.
But people SAY it's a lovely city. |

I'm so with you, Frederique :)
The beer in Cologne...well... let's not talk about it:

whereas BAVARIAN beer...well... there is a REASON why people all over the world say "beer!" as soon as they hear "Bavaria" ;)

I bet he did, it's supposed to be one of THE student cities in Germany :)
I definitely want to go there, soon, but it's packed with tourists in summer, and it's really small so I guess it might be difficult to find a cheap accomodation there... it's got high prices for student appartments, too, I think. Because it's so small and so many students want to live in the city. |

| I have very different tastes when it comes to beer so I know it's an unpopular opinion. I lived there so that influences my preference as well. |

Oooh and don't get me wrong: Hamburg is a great city, too. And so is Berlin, of course.
But I think it's too big for just a weekend. Munich is big, too, but it doesn't seem to be when you are in the city center. (Only when you look at the underground-map ;) )
Anyway, I still think you should visit a smaller German city once, especially when you're staying in Big Berlin. |

hahah, don't get me wrong, I'm not a big beer fan myself. I just drink "Radler" (which is beer and lemonade) sometimes. But usually, when I go to a beergarden (like the one on the picture), I drink Apfelschorle (apple juice and sparkling water, really refreshing) or Spezi (Coke and Lemonade) out of the big stein ;) |
