I am not quite sure myself. It's an event at my son's school. I think all the kindergarten classes have been doing lessons with the theme of teddy bears (nice, safe intro to school I guess) and tomorrow they're supposed to bring their favorite bear. I guess they're just going to walk through the halls, I don't know. Then we're going into the cafeteria for a teddy bear picnic. I don't know if we're eating the teddy bears, or if we're eating Teddy Grahams or what but I know at least one of us has to show up or he'll be broken hearted. So I will go and experience the oddity.
I keep wishing I could meet someone new who doesn't know I have kids so I could say, "I'm going to a teddy bear parade and picnic." And give them no more context than that. Just watch them decide whether or not I'm high, nuts, or joking. (probably at least two of those) |

Oh that would be awesome! I'd throw on some ears if he wanted me to.
But that reminds me of a funny/mildly pathetic story. This past June there was a little Father's Day party at their daycare and so my husband went up to it. He said about half of the kids had a dad who showed up (sadly not too surprising) but the interesting part was there was one mom who came dressed up as a cowboy wearing a mustache.
Seriously.
I mean, points for trying but I think your kid knows his dad isn't coming for whatever reason. Just show up as the mom and he'll just be happy an adult showed up. |

Yeah, I'm pretty intrigued by the whole thing. It is fun to have a reason to "have" to leave work. The bottom line is that even if it's incredibly cheesy and weird my son will be so happy that I'm there so that makes up for the actual situation. And yeah, kid snacks totally rule so that is a plus of having kids. Teddy Grahams don't last too long in our house. |

It was chicken, pasta, and veggies in a peanut sauce. I also had some yogurt.
I like bagirls. |
