One great thing about having such a common last name (my married one at least) is that it's pretty difficult to google me.
i work for a start-up (dot.com) here in san francisco, in the south of market area. there's lots of dot.coms here so the area is very shabby-chic, lots of trendy young people (both girls and guys). probably one of the reasons why it can be very catty at happy hour... meow!!!
P.S.
forgot to tell you that you have a very nice looking family. i think you rock, weirdmommy! :-)

Well thank you. That's two compliments in a day. I'm about to skulk away embarrassed.
I can see how that area and industry would produce lots of cattiness over over-priced drinks. What do you do? (though I guess you should be vague so it can't be googled and this thread pop up!) |

yup, over-priced drinks alright! i'm in legal. oops, probably shouldn't have said that :-P
*sticks head in sand*
the legal field here in the SF bay area is very small, especially in dot.coms.
how about you? where do you work and what do you do? |

Just today I was driving through a part of downtown (they're calling it 2nd Street District- which is all of two blocks) and realizing how much it's changed. There are all these chic shops and snooty restaurants. I'm not anti all that stuff but it is not the direction I'd like Austin to go in. There's already Dallas.
But there are lots of young career folks spending way too much money to look like they have more money then they actually do. And judging everyone who isn't spending all their money to look the part. |

I'm in legal too! But I work for a lawyer who does business transactions work so it's very low drama. Is your work similar to that? |
