um, I'm pretty confident that I ripped it to my computer using itunes with no problems at all. I was listening to it the other day from my Hard drive and I know I didn't download a copy.

You've got to keep in mind I am referring to the Itunes of several years back when the album was released. Later versions may well rip it. Some versions of the album may not have had the protection at all - region differences etc

Grand thanks Grinner, and you?

It was unrippable without downloading ridiculously specialist software.

Oh been better. College is stressing me out quite a bit now, I have 5 exams in the first week of january, and only 2 weeks in December to revise. And obviously some of those days are Christmas/New Year. It's a bit of a bastard boooo.

Sorry, I didn't actually see your post, it happened while I was responding to the OT, though I didn't rip it recently I have no idea what version I was on when I did or if it has the protection on it in the first place.

Yeah different versions of the CD some with and some without protection were available.

Just checked my copy out with Itunes - can't see it as valid CD, doesn't recognise the .wma files (without me pissing about with changing codecs).

Whilst I've got it out I might as well rip myself some MP3s of it anyway.

If your CD looks like this when you open it, it's the copy protected version (note the corrupted filesize on the left, 900+mb, CDs as a rule only hold 650-700):

Send me a PM and let me know what filetype you want (mp3 or whatever) quality, and where you'd like it uploaded (rapidshare/sendspace/to your email song by song etc).

I'll rip it from my CD and upload it.

Off to bed now
