I would love to give it a go but I'd need to see if they do classes near me. I don't want to go to a place where it's far too serious - it's got to be fun or I give up after only a few sessions. Do you go just once a week or are you addicted to a session-a-day??

I do it between 3 and 5 times per week but obviously you don't have to do it that often... If you haven't tried it before, you should definitely try some basic stuff first to get the basic steps right. But just make sure that you advance to a level that challenges you. There's nothing more boring than an entire hour of basic steps if you wanna try something new.

Blimey, how much excess energy have you got to burn off??? I can see why you don't do beginners , LOL. I've done a tiny bit a few years ago in the UK but it got boring because we just kept repeating the same routines. We used to finish the classs by going down to the local for a quick pint which completely ruined the "let's get fit" idea. Wouldn't mind giving it another go. I'm assuming step classes exist in France!?!?

I think they do but you better check with your local fitness joints.

And not so much excess energy, more like sitting in front of a computer at work. I need to move, otherwise I couldn't stand it!

Oh, and the repetition stuff isn't good for motivation. That's why I'm talking about advancing as soon as you can to prevent it from getting boring :o)

I'm off to bed. Let me know what you decide to do!

I hate that feeling when you look at the others who barely sweat and are not red-faced at all and you think "can they feel the whole room spinning or is it just me?" I ran up the stairs in a block of flats the other day (only 2 floors) and thought I was going to pee myself en route (one of the joys of having had kids) No bladder control! all the bouncing and jiggling in a class is sometimes risky too.

Tu n'as pas eu de ré-education après tes accouchements ?
Had kidney surgery 10 years ago and for a while i had no bladder control.
And i hate when ppl say "oh but you don't need sport, you're thin !" bloody eejits - of course i need sports - it's good to release endorphins (aka "feel good hormones"), to get rid of daily stress....have you tried yoga ?
I loved it but the class is 20 euro and i cannot afford it - at least for the time being. There were 5 of us max in the class - the teacher was excellent and i felt both tired and refreshed after it - an astonishing feeling.

You at least HAD a great body to lose, I didn't even get that! My post-birth thing never happened cos the kiné couldn't be bothered so he just told me to come to his gym class to make up for the 10 sessions (you don't even get the help from the Kiné in the UK!)
