In France, because it was a monarchy, we have lots of ppl with "de" in their last name.
I worked with an "Alix de Rohan Chabot" and my american colleagues would joke of this type of name and call them "de la porte de la salle de bain" (litterally : of the door of the bathroom").

| Hehe. I think that situation won't happen here (never say never :p) But the kid can go to the registry office and change his name. |

Oh yeah, and FZ's other children were named Dweezil, Diva, and Ahmet Rodan. . . sheesh. :P
My guitar/piano teacher practically worships Frank, so he used Zappa as a middle name for his son (and Wilf as the first name!) |

The world is full of horrible names. I'm glad this country has an act of law with a list of legal names.
Audio Science and Moon Unit, come on!

| Even if it means bear here as well, you can still be called Bjørn, or Asbjørn. Why is it not on the list anymore? Oh, and wasn't there a Norwegian writer called Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson? Always found that a slightly odd name. |

There was something about children shouldn't be named after animals... I have no clue on why they banned it... Asbjørn is ok to name someone tho. And yes there was a Norwegian write called Bjørnsjerne Bjørnson. He was named after a star Ursa major, which apparently was commonly known as the bear star (This star is also known as Stella Polaris, the polar star). It was apparently shining very bright the moment he was born. |

| Well thank you, I always wondered why anyone would name their child Bear Star. It's a bit like being called Hunting Dear or Raging Bull lol |
