BTW, how can you be scared of a tomato? Is there something I don't know about American toms?

the question should be how can one NOT be scared, you know what i mean? they sit there, just under the bun, being all sliced and mushy...waiting. plus it's a major pain in the arse trying to slunk them off the burger or burger bun when tooling down the highway. but i'm a nice guy, when i'm eatdriving i set them free out into the open air - oot the window, but sometimes they end up in the backseat if the wind turns on me :/

sorry...what was the question again? *takes meds*

You should research the whole serving thing because it could be a smaller amount of veggies than you're thinking to count as a serving. One tip I've heard is to chop up veggies super tiny (think food processor) and throw it into spaghetti sauce. Then they don't even know they're eating it! : )

Also, if the goal is just to get it into them, try cheese and other things to make it more appealing. Yes, that slightly counteracts the whole healthy thing but if the goal is to get your 8-yr-old to eat them period, it's a start.

And for fruit, smoothies rule.

Haz, I'm totally with you on the tomato thing. I can't handle them unless they're in a sauce cooked and not staring at me all smushy and limp.

smoothies aren't an option i think as kids and adults need to chew - also the raw fruit is good.

What sort of smoothies are you drinking that don't have raw fruit in them? : )

Chewing is good but not everyone can eat tons and tons of raw fruits and veggies. I can't eat a lot of crunchy food because I have jaw problems. Yes, there are many many sexual jokes you can make, I know! : )

The left side of my jaw started growing a few years ago so I can't even close my back teeth on that side. I have to get braces soon and then in a year or two have surgery where they'll go and cut the bone so it's the same size again.

It's a big mess. I have a really fun X-ray that shows my half horse face problem. (you really can't tell from looking at me by the way, it's not that lopsided thankfully)

GOOD! it's not just me then. they are the most distrubing item when they are outside a nice soup or salsa dip, can't be too chunky though.
