There was a huuuuuuuuuuuuge thread about it before and Glasgow seemed like a popular location, as it seemed most apt. But let's not go into it all again unless it's likely to happen..

Ollie, if you want to read all the stuff just search for the Boardie Convention thread from about 2 or 3 months ago. It's all there

Good point Paul, but someone needs to make the decision that it will happen. No-one outside of this board is gonna do it for us.

Haha, for some reason I feel discouraged all of the sudden.

But honestly, I would have the time of my life if we had a convention.

So does that mean the old thread should be dug up again???

It'd be kinda crap if someone arranged it and no one turned up!

Yep. I think that interest should be seriously gauged though. Give people a time window, like Summer (Northern Hemisphere) then see how many people can make it.

A strategically persistant campaign via T Chat, it worked for the Mexicans.

I think the band are pretty fond of the 'boardies' though- and something "official", well if they're invited i doubt they'd turn it down. Especially as some people on here (and i don't mean me) have regular contact with the band.

I reckon if there was something organised, the band would be there. But then again, it's about meeting everyone else so the band being there could be a distraction from that.

Just a few ideas- but the Mexican strategy is a good'n! haha

I see what you mean about the band, but the band is what's mostly going to attract people from further away, so it's a bit of a Catch 22.

Well, there were lots of threads imploring them to play there. I'm not saying conclusively that that's why they're pitching up for 3 more dates there, but every good business listens to it's customers, right?

Hi friends...just jumping in here. I'd be up for it! Would love to go back to Scotland. We try to go somewhere in Europe every couple of years, and we due to go back sometime next summer/fall possibly. It would be great to meet some boardies. :)
