It's not just my trees- that's just what they do. I blame a lot on global warming but this is just something funny this type of tree does.
I probably saw my first globe thing 2 years ago so I think they are newer trend.
That is the strangest tree I've ever heard of lol
Maybe the globe is an American product and someone had the grace to ship the one I saw to this country. |

| Could it be that the mighty oak gets confused in the warm Texas climate? I'm pretty sure they shed their leaves in autumn like good trees should in Michigan. Don't they? I guess I'll have to pay attention. |

Hanne, I would guess your theory is correct. Yet another cheesebag thing we are exporting.
I apologize.
Kayte, oaks definitely drop their leaves in the fall but the full name of a Live Oak is the Southern Live Oak. It doesn't grow above Virginia. The link below talks about the leaves dropping. Scroll about halfway down.

Nikki, can you ski on the lake ?
Yes, people water ski in the summer. I've never tried it before. We don't have a speed boat. Only my dad's fishing boat. But I've been water tubing a few times with the neighbors.
Not sure if you can see it in the pictures, but just beyond the lake there's a ski hill. I've never been though. I'd prabably kill myself. Just ice skating for me! (and curling, lol). |

i can't see the ski hill but so much snow gives many games possibilities : snow fights, igloo building, walks...
