You know, for some reason I thought about the two world wars, the iraqui and afghanistan wars just to mention a few... I guess we could say that developed countries in western Europe, North America and Asia got a bit carried away by the violence concentrated in third world countries.
As for the reasons for fighting a war, none is valid. But like Abs said, different cultures should be respected.
I do respect other cultures and religions etc... but I also think these people should also respect my beliefs (which most of them don't!!) Just because I refuse to believe whatever you do does not make me inferior. Personally if there is an Almighty God i'm pretty sure he doesn't give two fucks what a tiny insignificant Scotsman thinks.
I'm wondering who could benefit from her death, apart from the obvious fact that she won't become the new prime minister.
Of course she might have been glorified by the Western media, but killing political opponents is just not right. Furthermore, she's now gonna by a martyr for some people, which might lead to even more violence in her name.
I fear the situation will get completely out of control but I'm praying for the opposite.
Unfortunately when people try to quickly bring change to an entire nation it usually causes a fair bit of trouble, The Balkans, The collapse of the Soviet Union for example.
I really hope that the whole thing will end peacefuly but I doubt it. However the other guy has already been appealling to the nation to pull together, so her death may not be in vain...

It's to be remembered that Pakistan was created (against Gandhi's hope, work and short before he also got murdered. If I remember well it was because of the terrible and cruel religious conflicts between Muslims and Hinduists in the times leading to indepedent India...correct me if I'm wrong please.

Arte, a very serious French/German TV channel, broadcast a programm 2 nights ago about the history of Pakistan...and it doesn't seem to take its roots as much as in the end of the Empire than in 3 wars with India, fights over frontiers, resentment over the loss of Cashmere, Pakistan having been a country with 2 separate territories East and North west with thousands of Indian land in between and one of the territories ruling for the whole Pakistan against the pople of the other territory, religious conflicts and islamism enforced by the military dicatorship that followed the coup against and assassination of Butho's father...and I don't start listing the games played by the western world. Having watched that documentary and taked about it last night with a friend who also saw it we were both saying : no doubt it's such a mess over there.
So in conclusion, we both agree it's a mess over there, people should respect each others beliefs/faiths, a peaceful solution is wanted but highly unlikely and people should be treated as equals.
