msgboardies of a certain age might remember the satirical comedy show "spitting image" from back in the mid to late 80s. it was on 10 o'clock every sunday on central.

the whole show was made up of puppets, charicatures of famous people and what not and it was very, very funny. a bit dated now with all the references to ronnie reagan and thatcher etc. but youtube has some great skits from the show.

2 of my faves -

Baa Baa Black Sheep

(every time sir john gets prodded with that stick makes me laugh, so basic yet so funny in my humble. the eyes on that particular puppet are disturbingly lifelike)

One Man and His Wig

(this is a play on the popular sheepdog herding show "one man and his dog" with famous magician paul daniels and his crap wig)

yep remember it well ;) brilliant it was. A friend of mine produced rubber spitting images heads as dog chews... still got one of Maggie's

didnt' they use the same puppet face for many characters..?

ex: Tina Turner & Mick Jaggar
