Turkey and Russia hate us though. Everyone else thinks we are pretty darn awesome. It pays off to be powerless, forgotten country. No one knows anything bad about us! Except for Celine Dion and Nickleback. Maybe that is why Turkey really hates us! I don't blame them in that case. |

Germany is the best loved country AND the BBC did the survey. Amazing. I read that in none of the countries did a majority of people have a negative view of Germany.
...
But there's a discussion going on over here about the fact that the people that see Germany most critically are the Germans themselves *lol*. We are obsessed with finding bad things about ourselves (yet we don't like it when other people do "our job" *lol*)
...
On the OTHER hand, this outcome also means that the conservatives are SOOOO going to win general elections in 2009 *AAAARGH*... no matter that our foreign minister is a Social Democrat. Our Chancellor is a conservative, she's going to be the heroine, as always *argh* (she's so clever, really. it's a shame she isn't a Social Democrat ;D)
Why couldn't we be, like, second ;) in the world?
Canada can be first! (Kristy, why did you have to upset Turkey and Russia...)
Why do we have to be first NOW, in election-year?!?!

Anyway... Kristy, our spinster club will be SOOOO popular if this trend goes on :D
(and Fred, be nice, please. or come to Germany now, see for yourself if your strange prejudices are true, and make judgments afterwards :) France is 6th, that isn't too bad - considering "all of you eat living frogs and snails all the time" ;P...) |

Which are the criteria used to determine a positive or negative view on a country? (Is that correct English?? I've slept 1 hour and a half last night and it's friday, my brain is not working, sorry!). |
