Hi!
It was an email from the regular mailing list on 07/06/07:
Want to spread the word about the bands you LOVE?
Well now you can! We are offering you the chance to get involved in telling the world about Travis.
This is a unique opportunity for the most passionate and driven amongst you to put your talents to great use in return for loads of stuff. You have the chance to make a real difference. And not only will you be rewarded with free gig tickets, promos, posters etc of Travis, but for all of the artists on our label!
Jobs are fun, short-term...and they pay with things like pre-release copies of new records, free merchandise, gig tickets and promo items for completing your assigned tasks. There will be, on occasion, opportunities to meet the bands!!!
And you had to send your contact details, then you get an email from Independiente stating you've been chosen and to agree to the terms and conditions before 15/06/07.

Hey.
I replied to the original Elist mail, but I haven't accepted the Terms and Conditions email as I don't agree with them.

It sounded very rushed, and worded weirdly.
My post from another thread:
This acceptance email is very strange.
Firstly they're asking you to email your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions, which is all well and good, but then there's this: Once we have got your details we’ll send you information on the first task
Er, hello? Am I being ordered to do this or something? What if it's physically impossible for me to get to a gig/hand out leaflets etc.
Especially as they say: We want the team to be comprised of wholly committed fans around the UK. So, to show your commitment, it’s really important that you keep to the deadlines. That way we know you’re serious!
I'm sorry but I may be dying or something that day, would they drag me off my death bed to attend a gig? It sounds like you get dropped automatically if you don't carry out their wishes. Nice, eh?
Maybe it's just how they've worded it, but it sounds as if you'll have little choice in the matter .. I could be wrong, of course ..
Then How do teams work?
We will pass your email on to other team members in your local area so you can create your own regional division
Not without my fooking say so you won't.
Sounds very rushed to me.

| Is a street team REALLY necessary in the UK?! I'd think it would be more beneficial in places like the US where they are less known...*shrug* |

Not trying to be funny, but usually this is better when a band isn't heard of? Most people in the UK have heard of Travis. And don't like them anymore. But I guess that might be why they are doing it, to get the popularity back up?
Just seems a bit strange. |
