I just read on the BBC that Prince William only gets 22K GBP a year (plus some from his father, of course).
For the 2nd in line for the throne (after the Queen and his father), it strikes me as not a lot.
I mean, yes, its enough to live comforatbly enough on, but the average salary for people leaving my university is 31K GBP. So, with some luck, I'll earn more than aroyal. ;) (if you don't count his inheritance) |

| Its still a ridiculous amount for someone who does more or less nothing and isn't a tax payer |

| Does more or less nothing? He's a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals, and no doubt helps his father in all that charity work. I'm sure that the high-ranking royals earn their keep. |

That's suprising - you'd expect him to be getting loads more. I guess without the need to pay taxes, and the quality of lifestyle he gets given for free, it'll all be disposable income. Still, I can guarantee the Beckham's spend 22k in a day lol. And whereas Prince William is always on the move, Victoria at least probably does comparatively nowt for her check. =p |

| Think I read today that he has now got access to the interest on his inheritance from his mother's estate which should ensure that he is not exactly poverty stricken. |

| He did, yes. I'm not exactly saying his poor, but for someone who is in with a good chance of becoming King, that's not much. |

| I think it can't do him any harm to live on a modest wage, and I don't think his mother would have wanted it any other way. He's well grounded, let's keep him that way. |
