ok, I'm going to a wedding next month and will give money the the couple (my bro. & gf btw.) for their forthcoming Honeymoon but the last think I want to do is to give it away in a boring envelope or something but in a more creative way.
Soooo...my idea is:
taking an open box, paste it with polythene foil from inside, fill green or blue jelly in it (which means to demonstrate the sea) some sand at one side (which means to demonstrate a beach) and then comes the money into play.
I want to fold it in an interesting way, like maybe a boat, a swan, some fishes or WHATEVER to put onto the "water" and maybe a palm tree (or something that looks a bit like one) on the "beach"...ahh something along those lines
anyone of you into origami or knows where I can find some folding instructions for this kind of things?
that was my terrible attempt for a frog, a swan and a ship btw. *lol*...pathatic! :-|
(forget the boxes, they were part of an earlier idea)

Thats a great idea Trixi. Always nice to be creative. Ive seen a guy getting a money tree for his 60th bday. Was nice with all the notes tied to the branches. Who says money doesnt grow on trees eh:p
And Ella got a necklace with coins for her last birthday |

Hey, the swan, the boat and the frog look exactly like they should - a swan, a boat and a... erm... ?? Heh, just kidding, they're all well done!
I've never tried origami except for the boat, this is one thing that i've been able to make ever since i was a kid :)
By simply Google-ing i found http://www.origami.com/diagram.html - there are no palm trees, but they teach how to make a Christmas tree ;)
and there's one page in German http://origami-world.de/JAN_020d.htm where there are cute windroses.
Hope this helps :)

no, you're not. That's EXACTLY what I thought, too when it was done "great...a plane with legs!" ;-) |
