The results of my degree are due to come out this time next week and it has only just hit me that i have absolutely no idea what job i'm going to attempt to get! It's kinda freaking me out because there are things i want to do but i'm not able to get to or aren't available.

Just made me wonder what your ideal careers are (realistic ones!)? I would love to do something to do with writing, children's literature, crime fiction, tv or film production or design...something that keeps me interested that isn't just 9-5 and seems satisfying. Hmmm...

I've always fancied forensics, or lab work (so thats already accomplished to the extent I want)

Now I'm still aiming for astronomer or astrophysicist, with a view to becoming a professor or working at NASA or in Minsk :D

This might seem dull, but how about a library? Especially if it's a modern library with all kinds of multimedia technology.

Just a suggestion but I'm not sure it's the ideal career :o)

Thanks, i contacted my local library. Its not something that i'd have normally considered but i thought working in the children's section might be interesting so i could get involved with local schools and the community too. But the local librian told me that i'd have to go and study librarianship for a year and try working part-time as an assistant. Not sure if i'd be that committed to go to school again for another year!

that's what I meant by saying that it might seem dull... It has a reputation of being dull but I don't think it is.

I hear ya girlfriend! lol I wasn't offended as even I know I thought God library must be so dull and what boring person becomes a librarian, but seriously it is different to the stereotype! lol (God if u could see our lot here) So what you might get a quiet day but to me it's 100% than some boring office job (which I have had before). :)

I get the same reaction. I work with test, support and documentation of IT systems, and people think that it sounds terribly boring. But I swear it's actually quite interesting.
