Is that where their gravelly voice comes from? I was listening to pre-TBWNN stuff last night and Fran sounds a lot more gruff (in a good way!) than he does in TBWNN. Is this because he has stopped smoking?
The lead singer from Ghosts also smokes and I reckon if he stopped he'd lose the lovely versatile voice he has. I know he's killing himself in the process but hey, at least it sells records! :P

| It is to a point, occasionally people do have a naturally gravelly voice. Fran's voice is noticeably stronger now and he can reach higher notes live than before. |

| hmmm probably never thought about it. Although I noticed that Fran's voice seems much stronger and on the Boy... I though maybe he had voice training :) |

Hmm ... I thought his voice on TBWNN was weaker. Maybe it's to do with age, maybe it's smoking ... who knows ...?

In the interview that I listened to he said he stopped a couple years ago when Nora did too. The interview's on the other board, it's under 90.9 the bridge
