hey brits, a 20 £ question

are there 2 different notes for the 20 £ ? are both of them in use? because i've got some 20 £ with the Edward Elgar picture that I have used last year, now the bank gave me other 20 £ with Adam Smith and they are totally different.
Last year, the bank gave me some 10 £ notes that I couldn't use because arrived in England they said that these 10 £ were not in use anymore.
I don't want to do the same thing this time also...

Yeah but majority of places do, I always argue well it's got bloody stirling on it grrrr! lol But yeah just stick to ENGLISH notes for less hassle.

They fucking should, it's all Sterling and all as legal tender as the English money!

I once confused the Bureau de Change at Aberdeen airport by asking to change my scottish money for english notes for a weekend in lahhhhndooonnnn. COuldn't be bothered with the hassle.

Completely agree! It fecks me off everytime! Assholes! Doesn't make one bit of sense, just English people being fussy as always! ;)
