My son started Kindergarten today! I have been that ridiculous woman all weekend secretly crying and being laughably emotional. Since I am usually the woman snickering at the women who cry at everything I feel like it's my just deserts.
But I guess I got it out of my system because this morning I just felt so excited and happy for him. He is super social (I am quite sure he'll start his own fraternity in college) so he has been so jazzed about the whole thing.
This morning he said to me, "There doesn't need to be any tears from the moms and dads today. It's not like we'll be there forever." Neither me or my hubby said anything like that to him and I asked his teacher at the daycare (I dropped my daughter off there after we dropped him off) and she said she didn't say anything like that to them so I guess he just came to that conclusion on his own. And as I said, I was hiding my crying (like doing it in the car) so he wouldn't get stressed out by it.
It's just how did the little baby that I can still picture so clearly get to be so big!?!!?

I feel for ya. My daughter just started Kindergarten too and it made me sad. She however, was all over it. She's very social too and craves being around other kids. (She's an only child.) |

I'm not sad, just emotional. I'm really happy for him. It's just all very symbolic and I am acting like a major cheesebag. |
