Are they gonna release it in the original Mono format.
Stick on an old album or original mono recorded CD and you'll find the bass(guitar & drums) is on one side and the treble(voice) on the other, you can test this by playing with the Balance control while the recording is playing.

You can do that yourself at gigs, i was last night. If you put a finger in one ear, you can hear what the bass is doing in that ear (far more clearly than if it was 'in the mix' that you hear all together) and the vocals and guitars are the treble you can hear well in the other ear.
If you yawn whilst doing this it sounds incredibly fucked up! |

Mono version of Pepper has a different mix and was the one the Beatles were involved with . Guitar riff is a bit more up front in the opening number for example
Mono would have all the sounds avalible coming outta one speaker. Those early Beatles records , with the bass & guitar on opposite speakers are Stereo |

I was also wondering when the Sgt. Peppers tribute album is going to be out. Anyone have a clue?
Paul, why wouldn't Travis be on it when they recorded Lovely Rita? They better be! :P |

Actually, I stand corrected!! My mistake they are indeed Stereo before they realised how to use stereo properly, some companies did it deliberately too, for example Disco... You can isolate the baseline on Donna Summers' I feel love by turning the Balance to one side, great for mixing!! (remembered from my DJ days)

Instead of faffing about with releases like this I'd like it if they actually released some decent official CD transfers of the original albums.
I definitely recommend any Beatles fan to try some of the better CD versions out there (MFSL/Ebbets/Dess/Spock etc) |

I think mid Sept. I checked a website. In the meantime I've already downloaded Travis' cover and The Fray's. They did 'Fixing A Hole.' |
