..work tomorrow. Dreading the whole week actually as hardly anybody will be there and I'll have to endure very awkward tea breaks consisting of just me and the most miserable person on earth.........AARRRRGHGHGH!! Think I may just need to pull a sicky, or think of very valid reasons as to why I can't go to tea.

So what does the week hold for the rest of you?!

...and who's the most miserable person on earth?

My week looks ok. The past couple of weeks have been ridiculously busy, but this week looks ok.

The miserable person is somebody who never smiles. When I was first introduced to her, she never smiled. I could probably count on one hand the times she has actually smiled in the last two years. She is deadly serious, all the time...makes working with her very difficult indeed.

I'm afraid that's not the worst thing at work though!! My tea breaks are the only thing that make work bearable!

No worries. I'm really unhappy at work actually and desperately looking for something else....was just trying to make light of it by mentioning the tea break situation!!!

Oh dear. Either there will be awkward silence, or you'll try making a light joke to break the ice... and she won't get it.

Good luck.

You have the situation spot on! She always looks at me gone out whenever I joke about something which is why I try to avoid any conversation with her.

It's the only option if you can't stand her.
Nothing wrong with this.
It's actually healthier than spending time with a negative/boring person.

If you can't take your break alone, maybe you can bring a book with and read it so you won't have to interact with her? I've also made my grocery list while on break to avoid interacting with someone. It's too bad she's a downer and you have to be around her at work.
