Hey Goose! Remember you told us about your friend who totally dissed one once he had a girlfriend? Well, I was just reading Atlantic Monthly and the last page is this column where people can write in saying we need a word for this or that situation. One of them that they printed responses for this month was for "that guy (or girl) who, once he starts dating someone new, abandons all of his friends." The suggestions were:
an affair-whether friend
disapparamour
sexpatriate
deary departed
romantisocial
hiberdater
Thought you'd like those. |

So... when you're friend have found someone and decide they are happy, just because they don't have enough time for you anymore it's fuck 'em time??
My mates used to dissappear with women quite often... but surely you should be happy for them while they are happy and there for them when it all turns to shit which it usually does.
Unless of course you are my ex bird in which case I hope when your new boyfriend/husband/squeeze cheats/assualts/hurts you, you will remember I would never have done that!!!

Once a friend is through the first few weeks/months of complete getting to know you bliss, it's unhealthy to not have a balance. Your mate can't be your whole life. And when someone does that over and over it can be annoying. I remember friends doing this in high school/early college but not so much anymore. |

I'm all for people being happy and having someone special, but I don't like being blown off when that someone special offers something better to do that night, or being completely ignored and just generally forgotten about for very extended periods of time. |
