I'm definitely going to be getting some recording gear next month (big pay packet an all that jazz), so if anyone has any idea about this sort of thing, i'd like to know whether i'd be better off getting ProTools and working from my computer, or whether a wee studio thing would be better?

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers in advance

I never liked ProTools, but maybe that's because I was working with old, slow university computers.
