Who can remember the following Scottish bands and are they still playing gigs? Writing music?
Thrum?
Gun? (Is one of the guys part of the group El Presidente)
Del Amitri?
Teenage Fanclub?
Texas?
And the most famous of them all, The Proclaimers?
Any other bands I've missed?
Nazareth are getting back together, right?

Hear, hear! The Trashcans are recording a new album soon. Stay tuned :-)

Roddy Frame (of Aztec Camera fame) does one-offs every now and then. He released a live album in 2005 and a studio album in 2006.

Don't forget Belle & Sebastian....

Oh, and I loved that Roddy Frame solo album.

I also saw Aztec Camera back in the day in Brixton. Around 1842 I think....(blushes)

Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub is currently found playing bass for the quite excellent 1990s after their old one was dropped or quit or something.

...and Emma Pollock, formerly of The Delgados, has just released one of the albums of this year with her debut solo effort.

The Aliens are made up of at least two former Beta Band members and pretty much continue where they left off but a bit more upbeat.

Both Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton are doing great things solo after Arab Strap finished.

As for a few up-and-coming Scottish bands:
Frightened Rabbit
Sons & Daughters (really hope they make the break through with their 2nd alcum)
Twilight Sad

Tonie, you are funny :-) I was also around in 1842. Roddy hasn't been back here to the U.S. since :-(

Anyone remember Orange Juice? Edwyn Collins has a new album out.
