(and then I'll stop talking about my job)
talking about prosecco in the other post made me think about this thing that happened some days ago.
I was in the office minding my own business (I mean, I was working, doing ordinary things) and the phone rings. I see the phone number that starts with 0044... and think, ok must be a uk customer, i'll take it.
"Goodmorning Wine Company how can I help you?"
and a voice shouts "Your wine is not alcoholic enough!!!! How much of this wine should I drink to get drunk??? It doesn't get me drunk enough!!!!!!"
At the beginning I was like "what?? it must be a joke!"
But it was not a joke
I didn't know what to answer, I looked at the phone number that was 0044131 and said without thinking, come on you live in Edinburgh get yourself some whisky!
And my boss shouted at me "you can't answer that way! blah blah blah, are you crazy???!!"
But that was funny |

It's a bit worrying that someone does an international phone call just to complain about this. |

oh, drunkards are everywhere
anyways, with dial code 0131 it's ok, sometimes i pretend i don't hear the phone ringing when the dial code is 0141 because sometimes i don't understand a word of what they say (really sorry for that.. i promise i will attend some lessons of glaswegian) and also with 0191 that's newcastle if i'm not wrong and 0159 that's the shetland islands, the 3 accents i have problems with. It's ok if they speak slowly. But sometimes they speak so fast and it's such a different english from the one i can understand. Among the glaswegian Travis I understand Fran anyways, and Dougie. not that they call me at work of course. I don't understand when Andy speaks. And Neil, sometimes. |
