That's great! In college some friends took a child psych class and the professor gave them this list of affirmative things to say to a child. It was super cheese and of course we had to mock it by making our own list. The two that I remember were "when you cry you ruin our family" and "you aren't getting any dinner until you do something to DESERVE your dinner!"

and anne, one of the ones i've read to say to child if they ask why it's raning...say "God's crying because he can see you're not behaving!" LOL

REad them as a kid and planning to reread them to my daughter when she's old enough. Especially "Sam the firefighter cat", since her name is Sam.
