Now there's a sentence I thought I'd never hear! But as Mr Chow says, it's hard to come up with new fortunes. |

That is funny. A few years back my husband heard a story on NPR about how something like 30 people won the lottery. I think a bigger amount, say $50,000. It was very suspicious as it is pretty much statistically impossible for them all to have chosen the same numbers and those numbers to win. So they investigated to make sure there was no conspiracy.
The people had no connection to each other (not friends, didn't even live in the same towns) until they finally found the common thread. They all played the numbers from the back of a fortune cookie. Turns out one of the batches had the right numbers and so even though it was distributed to various restaurants the 30 or so people who used those same numbers got really lucky! |
