totally agree with you, abs. this happens to me when i travel to europe.
i don't look "american" so people assume i'm something else, but when i show my passport at customs or to check in at a hotel... the face of the person looking at my passport just turns.
i blame gwbush.

My cousin was born french and lived in the States for like 20 years and for some reasons she now has a US passport.
Problem is, she's been living in Egypt for 15 years and whenever she travels to other arab countries, its a pain in the neck. |

those incidents are part of the reason why i'm applying for my dual citizenship. also, for me, there's property (land) entitlement issues, stuff like that. |

just got your PM, thanks. no, i'm not german. i was born in manila, but when my family moved to the states, the US and the philippines did not yet have an accord that provides for dual citizenship. it's only recently that dual citizenship is permitted, which is why i'm re-acquiring mine. my family has modest property, so i don't want to miss out on it by not being a citizen ;-)
P.S. my friends call me jude. it's my name :-) |
