Has anyone seen this movie yet? Saw it yesterday and was really surprised. It's REALLY good...and great acting by Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg.

good to know! thanks for the review, nikki :-)
who knew that the bro of the late river, and marky mark, would mature to become really good actors... they continue to surprise me. |

| No, but we just saw Walk the Line with Joaquin Phoenix. He has that intense staaaaaare. The longer I think about the movie, the more I like it. I watched it a second time with the director's commentary on and it gave me a deeper appreciation for the movie and the psychology behind film making in general (close-ups vs wide shots, subtle glances instead of dialog, etc.) I was such a River Phoenix nut in high school (Stand By Me, one of my favorites). It's weird to think Joaquin was the younger brother. |
