| I'm hijacking your thread! The concert was amazing (and a little odd), though I'm dead tired today for lack of sleep-only got home around 2am, and then had class this morning :( But, anyway, I had fun, and I got a water bottle from her because it was so hot in the venue- we all almost died, basically. |

| Went to see her in Glasgow last April and it was awesome. Just her and this guy playing a guitar. Her voice is amazing, and i agree that she is slightly odd. But in the most wonderful way |

It was odd in a number of ways: she brought her dog onstage with her (I assume it was her dog), there were sound and light issues, she left during one song leaving the band to play while she changed shirts, and then a little over halfway through the set, she decided to take a 5 minute break. During this break, she got cups and water bottles and poured us all drinks because the venue was so hot. And of course, she has a very intersting persona on stage - Paul knows what I'm talking about. And it is the most wonderful sort of oddness.
Paul, I bet it was incredible seeing just her and one other guy. I got the 'full band' experience- the Dirty Delta Blues were with her. |

Yeah see i was surprised when it was just her and another guy. She was doing all new songs, some of them were on bits of paper that had just been written, and she only did one song from The Greatest- the rest was all brand new stuff. I remember seeing her with her band on Jools Holland and it was awesome- watched it loads on YouTube too. She's pretty brilliant! |

wow, all new stuff! That's very cool. There was quite a lot that I didn't recognize, but I don't have all her cds, so I don't know if it was new or old. She played a handful from The Greatest, though. I'll have to go check youtube for her Jools Holland performance... |

No I wanted Ashely or somebody to hijack it because I had hijacked her original Cat Power thread to talk about kitty cats.
I listened to her stuff online and I dug it and reading about her show is interesting but I don't know, I don't know if I can roll with someone walking off stage on an artistic whim. Frankly that stuff just gets on my nerves. |
