Every other Friday morning I teach a computer class to people who have zero computer experience. By zero experience I mean they struggled with turning the thing on when the class started. And about half of them speak so little English that they have no idea what I am saying.
While it's been rewarding to see their progress it's also been frustrating because I feel like the non-English speakers are getting short-changed when I'm the teacher since I don't speak Spanish. (by the way they told me they all spoke English when I agreed to volunteer but I digress)
There was a new guy there today and he seemed a bit more comfortable with a computer and was asking some good questions. At the end he asked me this: When you're in Internet Explorer is there a way to delete just one page you've looked at?
It was so hard not to laugh and ask him if he seriously thought I wouldn't know what kind of page he was talking about.
I told him I only knew how to delete all of them but there probably was a way, I just didn't know it. He said it just seems like there should be a way.
You know, so he could look at his porn without wifey finding out. |
