For real. It's the time of year when the crap is dying down, and the Oscar contenders are coming in.
Everyone's telling me to go see, 'Across the Universe.' I don't know, I love the Beatles, but I can wait until it comes out on DVD. I don't really venture out to the theater that much.
I did go see, 'Death at a Funeral,' in the theater, that was hilarious.

So, seen any good movies lately?

Not in the theaters, but I did finally see Farenheit 911 and we've been watching Planet Earth the past couple of nights. Interesting stuff!

I just wanted to recommend that one. The movie is amazing, and you should also read the book by Neil Gaiman!

Across the Universe is simply pure crap. My friends walked out when it was half way through, but I refused to leave 'cause damn, I'd paid 9 pounds :D But yeah, don't waste your money on that horrible thing which turns beautiful songs into these cheesy broadway -things. There are some good things there, but.. Just no.

Go and watch Once instead, now that's what I call fabulous.

Oh and I too was quite impressed when I went to see Stardust, sometimes you just need something like this; a bit silly and a bit too simple, but innocent and lovely as well. De Niro and Pfeiffer were both disappointments though, Cox was the star imo.

Oh wow. You're the first person I've heard say that about Across. Yeah, I think I'll just wait until the DVD. I've already seen Once, loved it.

Need to get around to watching Planet Earth.

I saw Gone Baby Gone--the Ben Affleck-directed film. Stars his brother, Casey Affleck, and Michelle Monaghan.
Wow. I thought it was fantastic. I'm glad for Ben Affleck.
I don't think it's out in the UK yet though. They delayed the premiere...

Hmmm, a Saudi-prisoner-tense-political-kidnap dobule header there.

I thought the Kingdom was a complete bag of shit, except for the last line in it. I find Jamie Foxx unwatchable, and was annoyed to see yet another film where the protagonists are a bunch of over-priveledged westerners trying so hard to understand another culture. Like the Last King of Scotland, etc.

And so I was put off bothering my arse to go and watch Rendition as a result, as I've lumped it in the same category.

Now Ratatouillie on the other hand. That I'll go and watch.
