In an effort to make more money, stores began displaying Christmas items even before Halloween was over. A local radio station has begun its "all Christmas songs" format already. I enjoy Christmas, but by the time it finally arrives, I'm tired of it. It's just too early! Is it just the US that has turned Christmas into a business machine that begins in October? Sheesh!
To top it off, yesterday I saw someone with Christmas lights up on their house and the neighbors still had their Jack-o'Lantern on the porch. Talk about two worlds colliding. |

Ugh. I am sad that it is not just an American problem. I saw a print ad (I think for Target) that had a jack-o-lantern with a Christmas tree carved on it. It said something like "your choice"
When we were getting my daughter's costume my son was asking why there was Christmas stuff. He then said, "They should take it down. You're not allowed to put Christmas stuff up before it's even Halloween."
I told him I totally agreed.
Abs, I think I HAVE seen Christmas stuff in August. |

Oh my God...I know what you mean! I love Christmas...but come on!
Which mall do you live closest to? I know 12 Oaks Mall is all decked out with trees and Christmas displays. I drove through a pretty upscale Clarkston neighborhood last night and was shocked that nearly every other house already had their lights up and reindeer on the lawn. They must pay a company to decorate or something. And yes, 100.3 WNIC are out of their flippin' minds! |

| Definitely not just an American problem. A bit more than two weeks ago they started selling Christmas decorations and chocolate at my local supermarket. |

I live close to Southland (yuk). I go there about twice a year. I hate shopping. I order everything that I possibly can online. My goal is to do all my Christmas shopping without ever leaving the house. And as for shopping on the day after Thanksgiving--the day I show up at a store at 6:00 AM is the day I will check myself into the loony bin! |
