Haven't got much work done today, because I've been too busy following the news of a school shooting in Tuusula, Finland (about 50 km from where I am). Some lunatic with a handgun shot dead 8 people (unconfirmed, at least the head mistress was killed) and injured several.
We haven't had these kind of cases before, so it freakes me out.
Here's the suspect person's youtube page

This was really shocking news :(
You always think that this kind of things happen only somewhere else, somewhere "far away", but now suddenly in Finland?! Unbelievable! Very sorry to hear that. |

| My daughter is pretty upset about it, and asking me if there's going to be gunmen in her school, too. Hope she can sleep tonight. |

Aawww, poor thing! Give her a hug for me :)
The worst thing is you can't really give a definite reassuring answer to her question... Let's just hope no-one takes the lead and this will remain a single horrible case. Fingers crossed!

She's still in the first school, so it's pretty unlikely in her school (1st-6th grades). Everybody's worried about possible copycats.
The girl just gave me a fright, sneaked behind me to tell she can't sleep. She's been in bed for two hours already.
There's going to be flags half mast here tomorrow and the Prime minister has urged all schools to discuss the issue asap. I don't think my little one is the only one who can't sleep tonight. |
