| aye, the decision is due in a couple hours. Glasgow should get on the strength of having a better infra structure but Africa is really due to have the games. So it might go to Nigeria, which would be fair do *shhhhh* I shouldn't say that! lol |

Seriously though, what kind of a mental will vote for the Commonwealth games to go to Nigeria? I know it's not until 2014, but you wouldn't catch me going there as a spectator let alone an athlete.
Have you any idea how many kidnappings there's been of british ex-pats who work out there? Regular terrorist attacks on the Oil Rigs that surround the Niger Delta.
Foreign Office guidlines on Travelling there:

On the flip side, it may be the boost to the economy and National feeling that would Benefit Nigeria in the long run.
I just wouldn't want to see a bunch of sportsmen turn up only to be kidnapped!! |

Isn't Nigeria a dictatorship with Sharia law? Or am I just being prejudist? |

Sounds very much like an African dictator, doesn't it :oS
Btw, when I went to the Beeb to read about the Commonwealth games, I also saw the headline 'toads open-minded about sex'. Now THAT is valuable knowledge to everyone! lol |
