Is that a euphemism?? Cause I decided to get hammered too, so fucking close, and judging by the highlights we wuz robbed, but I suppose that's the beautiful game for you. 1 good thing... we'll be number 2 seeds for the World Cup Qualifiers.

I've also been wondering if we'd an easier group would we have put as much passion into it, The Scottish disease seems to be pulling out performances against the bigger teams and getting fucked or draws against the San Marino's of the world.

I'm fucking heart broken. Nobody has ever been robbed as bad as that. Should have been a draw, with the cliff hanger of the final game. Bring on the World Cup Quali's.

I'm still so proud of the team and the players. They gave it everything.

I'm as gutted as the next man but we were not robbed. Yes there were some terrible decisions, but they weren't all against us. Italy had a perfectly good goal disallowed and Barry Ferguson was offside when he scored ours. Also, the 'handball' everyone's been going on about came off the guy's shoulder. So we really need to stop all this 'the world's against us and it's so unfair' stuff.

We can at least look forward to the World Cup qualifiers with the best young team Scotland have had in a long time.

hence the quote "That's the Beautiful Game For You", there were bad decisions on both sides but I think if you play well enough as a team it doesn't matter how bad the ref's decisions are... and Italy proved that, Howevee 2-1 against the World Champions is a damn good result, we also scored against one of the best defences in the world!!

If you had offered me we'd finish 3rd, beating France (World Cup Runners Up) Home and Away, taking points from the Ukraine. I'd have bitten the hand off you

Dubz

btw, I know the last world cup was shit in terms of football but we were still in a group that included three fantastic teams and some of the best players in the world, Henry, Shevchenko, Cannavaro, Gattuso, Voronin, Sagnol, Pirlo.

I have to agree with both elfy and dubs here.
We can all whinge all we like about things that didnt go our way. But if we had got dodgy decisions would we have said no you are referee? like hell we would.
As for the winning goal. Italy didnt cheat they, profited from an abysmal decision.Which we had the chance to defend, but defended poorly.

I thought the first goal was defended poorly as well- why attack the man when you could attack the ball? He was close enough and could have prevented it. As for the second goal- how do you win a free kick by elbowing someone in the face? That makes no sense
