Breaking News - the Sudanese want to murder the poor school teacher! I think I've heard it all.
It's so farcical it reminds me of Monty Python - She's a witch! Burn her! She turned me into a newt. I'm at a complete loss to understand such extreme pure religious fundamentalism in it's rawest form. I mean, they're talking about another human being who made an honest mistake and now they want to murder her? Tollerant they aint. Enlightened they definitely are not.
Can anyone give a case for the defense?
Granted, the woman made an error, a misjudgement if you will. But an honest one and a simple one. And not one that you would consider punishable by death in a rational world.
I'd hate to commit a 'serious' crime in the Sudan. |

| It is way over the top for what she did 'wrong' isn't it? That's if she even did anything wrong in the first place! Seems like an honest enough mistake to me |

the penalty for blasphemy (expressing disrespect for God or for something sacred) under Sharia law is 40 lashes, a large fine or prison.
when that cartoonist drew them pictures "depicting the Prophet Muhammad" a $100,000 (£49,310) reward would be awarded for his death and raised by 50% if Lars Vilks was "slaughtered like a lamb"
that should tell everyone these people don't piss about, why anyone would choose to have anything to do with people in a country of religious nuts is beyond me!

I guess if she was working there she had to know the rules, but who would ever think that such an innocent fact would unleash this reaction!
It's the most out of proportion thing I've ever heard. |

That's seriously insane. I try to be as open and accepting of different religions and cultures as possible, but no matter the religion, on a purely human level how can ANY group think this is right? Scary...
