(good morning/afternoon/evening boardies!!)
listening to the radio here at work and possum kingdom by the toadies just came on (still turn it way up when i hear it) and it occurred to me i would never have taken this song to be about murdering a girlfriend if my friend hadn't told me earlier this year!
any other songs and meanings i should know about?
*i know the police's "every breath you take" is about stalking* |

Birdhouse in your soul is about a night light...
Hehe, I dunno, that's just the song I'm listening to at the moment. :D |

Oh, I'd forgotten about that one. I only have it in a vinyl format, so I don't listen to it that often. But now it's playing in my head, thanks... ;^) |

| I heard somewhere that "All I Wanna Do Is Rock" is really about getting it on. They just replaced "f*ck" with "rock." I don't know if I read it on the board or heard it in an interview...anyone know if that's true? |

I'm sure there's a ton of hidden meanings in Beatles songs...the first one that comes to mind is "Martha My Dear" being about Paul's dog, lol.
EDIT: Just thought of another..."Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" being about an LSD trip. Even though John always claimed it was inspired by a painting his son Julian brought home from school as a boy. |

I had heard that for awhile but never seen it in an interview. But remember that interview Fran did in a ferris wheel with the woman who was about to hump his leg? (tangent: can I just say a "WTF" about that whole scene??)
She did ask him and he said yes but they changed it partly because that obviously couldn't be played on the radio. Also it still was true for where they were at in terms of being a new band. I also once heard Fran's mom asked him to change it. Don't know if that's true but his love for her is huge so that could be true. |

Ahhh...ok! That's where I saw it! Thanks Annita :) And yes...that "reporter" chicky totally sucked. Fran looked uncomfortable. |
