So, a friend of mine is moving to Korea for the summer to teach English and I was wondering if anyone has a good/creative going away present idea. Ideally something useful and easy to pack. I was initially thinking a journal or travel guide but she is more of a blog girl, and i figured she could look up anything she needs online. Ive travelling pretty extensively, but cant think of anything useful! Years of buying/making going away presents has left me with a blank. Im decently crafty, so something homemade would be great too. Suggestions?

thanks for the suggestions everyone.
I had an idea that dawned on me while making breaky this morning. I think I might get her the Dr. Suess book "Oh, The Places You'll Go" and get a bunch of our friends to inscribe it with msgs.
So, i think i might go with that. It's not very usefully, but hopefully it's something that will cheer her up if she gets lonely. Thanks everyone! |

Thats a cute idea. Kristy, does your friend happen to like Travis? If so, maybe you could get her the Travis "Rain On Me" umbrella from the Wee Store. :) |

| i'd send some local stuff from home...when my friend moved to new york i sent california postcards...bought her a california snow globe when i went to visit last year....sent a shirt that says "the best girls are from cali..." etc etc....just fun stuff that will make her think of home you know? |
