So pissed off! Last week we found out that we are no longer allowed to access the internet on our terminals at the counter (where we serve the public). If we want to use internet we have to sign in under our own user name so they can track what we are viewing. Unfortunately they have brought out NEW rules too which pretty much bans everthing :( All because idiots in some other branch(es) have been siting on gambling sites all day. Someone always ruins it for everyone else. Now I don't sit on it all day as I am busy funnily enough but even on lunch/tea break we can't check online banking, sites are being barred all major things. Just as well I have internet access at home (how I keep intouch with you lot) :)
Thing is, during the summer it can get pretty quiet and I am going to be tediously BORED!!! :'(
Only thing we can use is the likes of books sites as it looks like we are researching and check out sites for work related stuff.....so no yahoo mail,social networking,TRAVIS!!!!

Just thought I'd rant! I know they are completely in their rights and workplace is for WORK but still. |

| God, that is terrible! I only use our internet on the terminals to check out bbc news and our intranet as well as book sites. We have to go onto the computers themselves for other stuff like emails etc. But the likes of Facebook and Youtube are banned off them anyway. I get to go on them on my dinner because the place is shut for an hour. Even when we're quiet we can sneak onto a computer for a few mins...i dunno if i could cope without that! Poor you! |

I know it's awful! but my friend/work colleague came up with a great idea. We are gonna get new library tickets with aliases and long on to public computers when it's dead! Haaaaaaaaa problem sorted and if anyone askes, well we are fixing a problem! lol
Don't mind all the book sites coz I'm on them all the time to check out the latest ones etc and to place orders etc, much fun!!! And find ones I can order on our system. I think I have about 20 book reserved so far! lol I'm an addict when it comes to books. |

My place never use to have internet and to be honest I can't remember what I used to do besides send emails from my mobile phone when I needed too.
These days I don't know what I'd do without it, ah we would probably go back to playing ten pin bowling with plastic drinks bottles and golf balls. |
