What a friggin joke! I suppose this could go in the "things I don't like" thread, but GAH! It wasn't what I was expecting. What was reported in the media was wrong. Another example of the Bush administration telling you what they want. I guess I shouldn't complain, but I wanted the 1500 I was told I was getting :( That is all, carry on. |

No, I got the stimulus, it was just alot less than I had heard. Even my neighbor here who has the same amount of children (child) got the full 1500. So yea, I'm a little miffed cos I had to use more of my own money to buy my shiny new tv :) Again, shouldn't complain, but that's "how I roll" ;) |

no.....I mean, why didnt you get the whole thing?
I went to www.IRS.gov to use their calculator to confirm what I was getting. And then they sent a separate card the week it was deposited confirming what I was getting.
There may be an issue on your original return regarding your son....which they won't tell you about for another 9 months. |

I just saw this. Don't know if any of this applies to you, but here are some possible explanations.
Q: I received my rebate, but it's for less than I thought I would get. Why?
A: There are several factors that could shrink your rebate:
•Your rebate can't exceed your 2007 net tax liability. If your net tax liability was less than $600 — or $1,200 if you're married and filed jointly — your rebate will be reduced.
Taxpayers who used Form 1040 can calculate their net tax liability by adding Line 52 and Line 57. If you used 1040A, add Lines 35 and 32. On 1040EZ, your net tax liability is the amount shown on Line 10.
•You owe back taxes, child support or have defaulted on your federal student loans. The IRS will apply your rebate to those debts.
•Your children don't qualify. Parents are eligible for an additional $300 for each dependent child. But the payment is available only for dependent children who were age 16 or under on Dec. 31, 2007.

I'm on hold with those asshats right now and have been for a while. They sure don't make things easy for ya, I've been hung up on at least 7 times. The recording says it was reduced for some reason, but I don't speak idiotic irs speak and am waiting for somebody to tell me in english!
Edit: I finally got an answer. I got the right amount. I still don't fully understand but at least I know it's not a mistake. |

Oh, then that would be a shellbacker. He got some fruity certificate for that. I think he's done it twice. |

Yes, we just received our stimulus payment...but looks like it'll go toward the baby. They're small, but they sure cost a lot! |
